The staph live above and in the mucous. They generally don't infect unless there's a break in the nasal membrane, or they end up being blown somewhere, like down on the facial skin. If there's a break in the skin, or not enough of the normal flora and fauna there that keep them in check, they could infect. Sneezing is caused by an irritant trigger. Staph loaded mucous does not cause a sneeze. They may cause one to blow, pick, or fire a loogy(sp). Since they could easily be and most often are loaded with staph, and are sticky, they can cause a nasty infection.

Peroxidase is an enzyme that breaks down peroxide and other oxidants, such as the hypochlorite ion(bleach). T cells contain concentrated bleach in packets called vacuoles. In response to protien antibody triggers, the t-cell dumps the content of the vacuole at the site the trigger was encountered. That's one of the immune system's defenses.

Pathogens contain 2 defenses against that immune defense. A polysaccaride film and/or peroxidase. Those defenses aren't the pathogenic factors though. The pathogenic factors are usually protien poisons, or enzymes that cause, or promote local cell destruction.

Thanks for the elaboration.

Quite considerate of you.

I got an A&P book around here somewhere. (Not to mention the internet.)

I'd like to check out this stuff.

TY.

Evolution is the biggest lie EVER perpetrated upon the human race (from the pit of Hell)! And... the Evolutionists know it... that's why they get SOOO upset when anyone dares question their religion!

Cue the music from "Deliverance"...

I do hereby designate you as Sir Radix the Troll. You've worked hard recently to achieve this accolade and esteemed award and position. Congratulations. However, you should know that the price you must pay for achieving this distinguished position is that you must work harder to get the attention you've up until this date so easily attracted.

Neutrophils also use hypochlorite ion. If you're doing a google, use the keywords phagocytosis myeloperoxidase neutrophil. It'll be under basic immunology.

Gosh you are trying.

I did all of my homework after all of those classes, and I still got no idea what you are talking about in that post.

It is fun to look at though.

I use Google a lot, but not to make impressions.

I use it for research and stuff.

Sometimes the books get heavy, and I am talking about kilograms here.

SmartyPants.

"I do hereby designate you as Sir Radix the Troll.

That is so nice of you.

Thanks!

Yeah, I am guilty of seeking attention

I am also guilty of reading books, studying, and making it a point to know what I am talking about before I post out here on these mean but actually benign threads.

I'd like to designate you as a contemporary Knight, who has proved your mettle by being so sweet to me in your humble rebuke!

Now take a hike Ike!

You've done well hiding this from everyone. No one would have guessed.

Now take a hike Ike!

Quaint and nostalgic, I like it. But you've used up all of the time I allot a newly knighted troll. So carry on.

It is shameful of so-called conservatives to throw away votes on a lose-lose issue.

You guys are delusional. Rush and Coulter are both as conservative as you can get. Your viewpoint is certainly the minority opinion in every poll taken of the American people on the subject. So what votes are being thrown away?

I was wrong about the T cells dumping hypochlorite(CRS). It's primarily the neutrophils and occurs during an attempted phagocytosis. The neutrophil engulfs, or attempts to engulf the tagged target. The hypochlorite is released whether, or not the tagged target gets eaten. Cytotoxic T cells only seem to dump protein toxins, or suicide pills.

Test on Mon :o)

"during an attempted phagocytosis"

Well, there you go. Once the phags start running amok in all that snot, things are bound to start going bad. No wonder the suicide pills are getting distributed.

Now I happen to think evolutionary theory has a lot going for it and that ID is a dead end. But I hate it when schools are used to liberate children from the putative errors of their parents, on the tax-paying parents' dime.

The government should get out of the education business entirely. Wishful thinking, yeah, but otherwise education will constantly be a battleground for these unnecessary political fights.

"The government should get out of the education business entirely."

And then only the people with money will be educated. Then we go back to the problems associated with colonialism. No, the government definitely needs to regulate education, and since it is a free republic, you are free to have your children educated wherever you choose. With accountability at home, kids thrive in public school.
