I cannot grasp their rationale.

You can go get a baby's brains sucked out at an abortion clinic, but HOW DARE YOU have tobacco anywhere near a child.

And, is it just me, or do you notice a great number of antis(not all; but more than a few) are pro-choice when it comes to baby-murder?

Outside of inadequate maternal nutrition, the biggest single harm to babies by maternal practice is alcohol; fetal alcohol syndrome is devastating and entirely avoidable.

Of course, it's the cigarette smoke that does it. Not the fact that the mother in question is dumb enough to smoke while she's pregnant. Poor genes, poor parenting skills, etc..have nothing whatsoever to do with this.

I'm not an anti-cigarette zealot....in fact, I enjoy a cigar on occasion. But I never smoked around my wife while she was pregnant, and I won't around my kids, either.
