Pride of workmanship... compare the dams we built in the 30's. 40's and 50's compared to the brand new dam that drained itself in Brazil recently and the crumbling cement in that dam.... or the contractor in San Francisco (buddy of Willie Brown, but getting top contracts because he is Hispanic and got preference due to being a "minority"-owned business -- turns out he was selling re-cycled cement to retrofit the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge and a dam for the cities water supply.... how much of this greedy, shoddy, work permeates our country because of the dems

Wherever there's lots of money to be made, there's greed, crime and corruption going on. The liberal-demokkkRATs are the worst, but GOPers (think Randy Cunningham, etc) aren't totally infallible either, just a bit less so.

Pride of workmanship is a nice idea.
But all the projects which are being compared to the big dig were built by men who were really, really smart.
The government no longer has the wit to engage the best and the brightest to work on its complex engineering projects.
So - the rockets blow up. The tunnels collapse. The dams give way.
What else do you expect?
