Hope I didn't keep you waiting, jaz says you're one fine foot-tapper! :-)
Knowingly revealing the identity of a covert agent is illegal under the Intelligence Identities Protection Act. In order for anyone to have broken the law, he would have to know and reveal that Plame was a covert operative for the CIA. The problem is that she wasn't.
Valerie Plame ceased to be a covert agent when her cover was blown years earlier. The CIA believed that Aldrich Ames (CIA agent/KGB spy/traitor) revealed her role, along with many other operatives, to the KGB before his arrest in 1994. Plames former existence as a secret agent became little more than cocktail party chatter with which to thrill the uninitiated.
Since her identity was not classified, not secret, and she had not been assigned to duty outside the United States in the last five years, revealing her mundane desk job with the CIA was simply not a crime.

My question: Why are people still going spastic over these traitorous scum, making them oh so famous, instead of demanding they be put behind bars.
The creation of "political stars" like Plame/Wilson and Shehann is disgusting and a waste of time, breath, energy and resources, IMO. It is pathetic that with all the serious news and action going on around the world, these three are given any time on the stage.
Ha, I waited you out in bed. Just saw a clip of Wilson on FNC at the Press Club sniveling about how he and his wife had been wronged, he's so pathetic he's comical. There was a thread last night that said even Lawrence O'Donnell said Wilson's crazy bringing this suit. For the crazy to call the crazy crazy is just, well, crazy. :-)
