Red Buttons made a dozen movies in the 1970's, and appeared in scores of TV shows, like Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, Jackie Gleason, Disneyland, and many, many more, all in the '70's.

He was also an Academy Awards presenter sometime in the '70's.

Methinks you're thinking the wrong "Red". :)

Maybe it was Red Foxx. Now, he would be an interesting house guest. You know if you really wanted to impress the boss and especially his wife.

Red Buttons started in show business at age seven, singing on street corners. He started in burlesque in 1939, working for Minskys. He also did Broadway and had a television series in the sixties, "The Double Life of Henry Phife".

Buttons made a lot of movies during the seventies, but his career spanned somewhere around fifty years.

He was born on the lower east side of Manhattan, in an area called "the miracle mile." Buttons, Fanny Brice, Jimmy Durante, Eddie Cantor, George Burns and George Gershwin all came from the same neighborhood.

Just a little Red Buttons info. Loved his work, especially Hatari, and was seriously jealous when he got Carol Linley in the Poseidon Adventure. I always thought in terms of appearance, she was as close to perfect as it gets.
