The only bummer was that our camera batteries died right during the Purple Heart award, so we didn't get any of us shaking hands. It really was Soooooo exciting. We waited 3 hours, standing in a pretty toasty warm hangar, but it was sure worth it. I was so proud looking up at the stage and seeing all those strong and proud faces from ALL the branches of the American military. We always work so separately on this base, this was such a rare event.
Well, we found out today that in all the flooding in the area, a woman drowned trying to rescue her daughter just a few miles from here. (The daughter lived).
I'm sure the whole family needs a LOT of prayer right now.
