One other comment. You said, innocently, "At least have the decency to allow the unfortunate person to pass on their own." And of course, this is the moral and civilized view.

And yet it reminded me that Death Culters, when they drop by, say often something quite like it, but with the opposite meaning. They say things like, "Let her [Terri] rest" or "She's dead, leave it alone now" or "Give the poor woman some peace."

These remarks are not well meant. They are taunts and jeers. They mean, "Nyah, nyah, we killed her, now shut up!"

They will be disappointed. The Terri Schiavo story will be remembered long after all of us are gone. It can't be shut up. Injustice is never forgotten.
