Wonder what happened to Israeli missile defense? These long distance rockets should be capable of being intercepted by Patriot batteries. If this continues to escalate, look for Hamas to use WMDs provided by Syria via Saddam.

Hezbollah is playing brinksmanship and counting on the Israeli response to be less than effective. In my opinion, Israel could end this whole situation and buy some serious quiet time by launching a determined and effective series of overwhelming attacks on targets (human and otherwise) in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. I don't, however, seen any indication that this is going to happen.

All is well. Remain calm.

The three-person delegation sent by the U.N. to urge restraint on all sides have landed in Beruit. They were just on CNN complaining about conditions at the airport. Evidently, the IAF took out the VIP Lounge.

I feel much better now. The "restraint" people are on the scene. Order will be restored after a nice bath and some light wine. sarc:)

Nobody hurt (so far) in attack on Central Haifa, but more than 120 civilians (and climbing) have been wounded in other rocket attacks in Nahariya, Safed and Carmiel.

It's time to get the big war started so can can get it over with and return to some kind of global normalcy. Every day we talk and talk and more innocent people die. Every day we talk the enemy plots, plans, and gets stronger. Abolish Islam now.

Surprised they aren't operationally deploying this:

Mobile Theater High Energy Laser

Actually, in a nation this bleeping small, mobility is not essential. Fixed defenses work just fine. Not just rockets, but artillery shells, too:

(Source : TRW Inc.; issued Nov. 5, 2002) TRW-Built Laser Weapon Shoots Down Artillery Projectile In Flight

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. and WHITE SANDS, N.M. --- Until today, nothing could stop an artillery projectile once it was fired. Now, in a world's first, a high-energy laser, developed by TRW for the U.S. Army and the Israel Ministry of Defense, has intercepted an artillery projectile and caused it to explode harmlessly in the air.

The shootdown took place during a live-fire test of the TRW-built Mobile Tactical High-Energy Laser (MTHEL) testbed, conducted by the U.S. Army, at its White Sands Missile Range.

"This shootdown shifts the paradigm for defensive capabilities. We've shown that even an artillery projectile hurtling through the air at supersonic speed is no match for a laser," said Lt. Gen. Joseph M. Cosumano, Jr., Commanding General, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and Army Space Command. "Tactical high-energy lasers have the capacity to change the face of the battlefield."

The shootdown occurred as part of a new series of tests to determine MTHEL requirements and demonstrate the system's capabilities against a wide range of airborne targets. In earlier tests during 2000 and 2001, the testbed -- then called the THEL/Advanced Concept Technology Demonstrator -- focused on the threat of artillery rockets and succeeded in shooting down 25 Katyusha rockets, fired singly and in salvos.

"TRW's THEL technology is now proven against both short-range rockets and artillery projectiles. With this test, MTHEL further substantiates its potential to protect soldiers and key assets against attack by a variety of air threats," said Tim Hannemann, president and CEO of TRW Space & Electronics.

TRW developed the MTHEL testbed under contract to the U.S. Army, for the joint US Army and Israel Ministry of Defense THEL ACTD program. "We look forward to producing a prototype of a truly mobile version and operational tactical laser weapon as the MTHEL program gets underway."

Today is Tzom Tammuz, go to your favorite search engine and key this in. It is a sad date for the people of Yisrael and the Hebrew people. For a good article on Islam-Mecca-The Whore of Babylon, go to yourarmstoisrael.org and select "sermon notes" and pull up "The Final End Time Beast. Print and save for future reference.
