Supposedly we retired the SR71 without a replacement. Supposedly we are giving up this NSA tool without some other backup. I don't think so in either case.

I suspect tht you are right. Once these programs are "outed" and compromised, they have little value. The CIA's function evolved into the NRO, DIA , NSA and other functions that were more productive and less politically volatile, until the rats found them and ratted them out.

Judging from the recent Novak revelations on Plame...it seems more and more to me tha the CIA is just a diversion anymore and flypaper for all the anti-American moles!

Let's hope the NSA and DIA etc are still productive!
