As a battle-tested veteran of many political and legal wars, Minnesota Attorney General Mike Hatch knew a political torpedo when he saw one approaching. In February 2005, he thought he saw one in a Chicago resident's letter seeking records on how much Hatch office's spent on travel, furniture, artwork and outside lawyers.
He traced the suspicious investigation back to a Chicago firm he said is known for doing so-called opposition research -- that is, digging dirt -- for Democrats. In time, he linked the probe to another top state DFL leader, Rep. Matt Entenza.

Any in-fighting amongst Democrats is fine with me. They're not only doing it at the state-wide level - but at the congressional district level too.

The cynic in me however, reminds me that they will pull some photo op, shake hands, blather off a few spending programs 'for the children', and *POOF* The Land of Sky Tinted Waters will forgive all, and run to the ballot boxes.
This may be bad, but we have a long history of letting DFL foibles slide...a LONG history. I might be tempted to say "Well, these two CAN'T be dumb enough to go to November with this enmity, but then again, they are DFL...
Now that IS changing; We are inching away from the DFL, and I HOPE that I am wrong about them being given a pass (The Star and Sickle, will not help in this matter :(); I sincerely do. But as they say, "Plan for the worst, and pray for the best..."
