There is something unsettling about a decorated general blubbering on tv.

"Apparently he haven't heard the newsflash that Bush is interested in the Pence plan and is leaning towards border-security first?"

Yes. So what? I'm not a sucker.

Beginning already in 1790, legislation passed by the new American Republic started regulating both. The first three immigration laws in the 1790s dealt with increasingly strict requirements for naturalization [Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution gave Congress the power "To establish a uniform rule of naturalization "], while the first law to regulate aliens in the United States was the Aliens Act, passed in 1798.

Do you know what naturalization is? It applies to people who are already in the country.

I suggest you do some reading yourself. Prior to 1917, if you weren't a member of the groups I listed previously, you were allowed to enter the United States.

I don't think the Senate is helping themselves having Michael Bloomberg testify to that even though they came here illegally and they are hired illegally, NYC would fall apart without illegal immigrant labor. This from the same guy who said about a month ago we need illegal aliens because there are not enough caddies at his Country Club.

J. D. Haywood said it well when he said:"there's the real world, then there's the US Senate".

As is your wont, you add nothing to the thread.

"What do you all think of this?"

I think that Democrats are grasping for a wedge issue.

---I think that Democrats are grasping for a wedge issue.---

If Republicans keep pushing amnesty, they've got one too.

J. D. Haywood said it well when he said:"there's the real world, then there's the US Senate".

So true. Somebody should make it a tagline.

Whats your point, sinks? Let everybody in who wants to come here? Open the borders and welcome all?

I was shocked that the Senate bill was real. At first I actually thought it was some kind of sick parody.
