And Olmert is going to do what?

Again, I would like nothing more than to see the Israeli's pound the living shi'ite out of them, but this "restrained" horse manure is simply not going to cut it.

If the arabs didn't see Israel's government as being weak and hesitant, they wouldn't have tried this crap in the first place, IMO.

President Bush says one thing. SoS Rice calls for restraint. That's certainly a clear message to Israel. Not that it matters anyways, as Olmert is still a pussy, IMO.

Assad was in the residence that Israel overflew a while back and rattled his windows. The proper response would have been all four jets dropping ordnance on that house in an effort to eradicate Assad, IMO.

No, the current Israeli government is too "moderate" (read: leftist) to actually do what should have been done already, IMO. And Tehran should be a smoldering ruin by now if the Israeli government had the stones to do what is necessary, but no, Olmert will do nothing and Iran will soon have nukes.

I want to be proven wrong. I fear I am right.

Rice need to go on a two-week vacation where she's not allowed to call in, check email, anything.

You have said it all, with one exception. No doubt this happens because of the expectation of feeble consequences. We see it with Shalit and now in the North, controlled by Syria. This is a pivotal moment for Israel. They need to go back to 1967 borders, especially in greater Jerusalem and do it now, with acceptance of war declarations of Syria and PA.

Iran, on the other hand, is unlikely to embark on a "MAD" policy with geographically distant Israel (which, by the way, may have missile defense system) nor hand over weapons that important to a renegade proxy.

Sadly, I believe you are correct. Having been given every reason to totally terminate Hezbolla and Hamas, Israel, under pressure from the US and Europe, will restrain itself and refuse to prevent future atrocities against its own people. It's flatly suicidal.

NOW is the time to bring the Hammer of the Gods down on these savages. But... someones feeling might get hurt, so instead we'll 'negotiate' until everyone falls asleep. In the future, when Israeli civilians are killed by these booger eating savages, their families will have pacifist governments to thank for it.

Softness is what I expected from Olmert too, but I have to say thus far he's looking a heck of a lot stronger than Sharon did over the past 2-3 years.
