We heard the tragic news, Dan. You have my very sincere condolences. The young man I had the privilege to meet was under siege by a vicious disease, but he was so full of life and determination. And witnessing you in that horrible situation showed me where Dustin got his determination. I was truly honored you let me drop in unannounced for a quick visit.

God bless you and your family.

Rest in peace, Dustin.

Hello to you Coop;
It’s been some time now since we have been back home. My son (Dustin Decol) Had a beautiful memorial service attended by hundreds of people, from as far away as D.C. and out from Arizona.The Patriot guard Riders attended en-masse. That was very moving to our family, that so many former vets came from so many places to honor Dustin’s service. Here is a painting done by an artist in Arizona by the name of Kaziah,I had heard of this site the 1st time my son was deployed, never thinking I would be a recipient of such a wonderful gift.(http://www.kaziahthegoatwoman.com/Images/640x480/HS-203_Dustin_Decol_8824.jpg)
It hangs over my fireplace, for all to see. My wife is doing well as we have such a beautiful granddaughter who is 16 mos. old now. She looks so like her mom and dad. It’s amazing how much strength we gain from this little girl. My Daughter Destini, is engaged to a soldier whom we met when we were at W.R.A.M.C. he was hit by an IED in Iraq and was at the hospital for a little over a year. He is medically retired now, and lives with us down here in Louisiana.
He is a country boy from Tennessee. Good kid. I don’t know who said the suffering gets easier with time, but so far I miss Dustin every moment of every day. More so now than the day we lost him. Well I just wanted to let you know I still stop by and read up on you all, and am happy to see things are still going well with the support. You take care Coop & God Speed! ! ! P.S. here is a webpage with pics of my granddaughter & Daughter-in-law. as well as a couple pics of my son..(http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=15708335
