These music types are really Maroons.
Actually seems like pretty good PR to me. Costs less than a marketing action and the press picks it up and it is all positive.

I saw REM back in the 80s. The singer was whining about various greeny ideals and how we should all boycott Exxon. I left the concert early and walked around to the back of the arena on my way to my bus stop. There in the parking lot near the back entrance was a fleet of tour buses - REM's tour buses, all sitting there with their engines running.
That was the official end of my youthful idealism.
