Lieberman criticized clinton in less than harsh tones as I recall, in one speech. Otherwise he was as much a clinton lackey as most other Democrats in Congress.
Meanwhile I saw my first Lieberman yard sign today. There are already dozens if not hundreds of Lamont signs around. Pretty sad what the Dems have been reduced to.
The democRAT Party long ago became a Party of common prostitutes.I'll bet that the people of Fairfield County, who have benefited to a breathtaking degree from this country's opportunities and the folks around New Haven who will someday reap those benefits are Lamont's biggest supporters.
BTW,FYI...I saw a Ford SUV on the Mass Turnpike a week or so ago that had CT plates that indicated that the owner was the Speaker of the CT House. It had a little "peace symbol" on the bumper. My guess is that that means that he/she is in Lamont's camp.
Back about August 1998 when Clinton's ratings were at a low point (whether before or after Clinton's angry non-apology apology on TV, I don't recall), Lieberman made a speech in which he emoted over how upset he was at Clinton's conduct. I think the speech helped guarantee that the Democrats in Congress would never support any serious steps against Clinton, nothing worse than venting hot air or maybe a meaningless censure resolution, because of Lieberman's image as a pillar of rectitude in the Senate.
"...Pretty sad what the Dems have been reduced to...."
Breaks your heart, doesn't it?
