Bush: if Chechen Basayev killed, 'he deserved it'

President George W. Bush on Monday said if Chechen rebel leader Shamil Basayev was killed, "he deserved it."

Russian officials said Basayev, who claimed responsibility for the bloody Beslan school siege in 2004, was killed in an operation by special forces.

"If he is in fact the person who ordered the killing of children in Beslan, he deserved it," Bush said.

U.S. authorities were still gathering details on whether it was Basayev who was killed, he said.

Watch the left complain about how "insensitive" President Bush was with this statement.

Basayev and al-Zaqarwi are now sharing a room in the Hades Hilton.

And what a war-mongering cowboy he is.

As opposed to being a Left-leaning, peace-mongering Girlie-Man.

I concur with the president.

They would not even allow those children a drink of water during the three day siege. I believe that for this guy, death is the least of his worries now.

He and Zarqawi have their own little corner of hell, where they will burn for eternity, but hey, save room for Osama!

What kind of sick MFs would do something like that?

It would be such a better world if only the US and Russia can put aside their mutual suspicions and unite against the common enemy.

Cowboy diplomacy lives at least one more day.

Amen.

Paging Time magazine....

CNN did a report on Basayev early this afternoon. The words terrorist and terrorism were never used.

BTW, this is the guy that ABC News interviewed that got them thrown out of their country.

One can only hope that they put a bug in the media equipment and someone found out where he was. Now that would be sweet.

Hi Martha,

The guy carrying the baby has an ID tape that says "SPETZNAZ." The Russians clearly threw their A Team at those savage barbarians.
