Short of nominating Giuliani, I can't think of a single thing the GOP could do to more securely assure the ascent of The Beast in Pants Suits to the imperial throne of Washington.

My preferred list includes some who won't run:

1. Cheney
2. Jeb Bush
3. A Conservative Military: Franks, Ollie North
4. Allen or Tancredo or Frist or anyone with a conservative ACU rating of 80% or higher.
5. The Rinos: anyone with an ACU rating of 70% or lower.

Imagine a Giuliani-Rice ticket. The Dems would just crawl into a hole to begin a painful 4-year planning session, in hopes of having a chance NEXT time. And Condi could get Rudy enlightened re the Second Amendment.
