I couldn't sleep last night...so I turned on the radio..and I turned to my local NPR station.

They were talking about the World Cup on BBC. They interviewed a man who lives in Marseille (sp) France, which is the hometown of the head-butter.

They asked him if he would be blamed for losing the game..and bring shame to France...

He said NO, that the reason he head butted that guy was because the Italian team is known for hating black people, so they taunt the black players on all of the teams..and this guy Linard(?)...was "paying them back"...

I thought...oh, my goodness...I thought it was only in America that the race card is used as an excuse all of the time..

Interestingly enough I read that there was a german website dedicted to obscene racist commentary on the black soccer players.

Whatever the reason, Zidane proved his has the self control of Rooney, another thug playing soccer.

Zidane is not a stranger to red cards so I really don't want to hear excuses.
