Bull. Fitz has had his chance to do the right thing and chose to do the popular thing.

President Bush, unlike Patrick Fitzgerald, will do what he knows to be right rather than cave into political pressure.

The nation needs to know that Bush's failure to back Fitzgerald will betray a gapping hole in the conscience of the president. Apparently this wasn't written by someone who knows how to write.
We can ignore the "gapping" which should be "gaping".
The concept of a conscience having a "gaping hole" is certainly novel, but presuming that a conscience is like a donut, AND assuming you believe that cutting Fitzgerald loose is an act of "betrayal", what you would be betraying would be the "conscience", not the HOLE in the conscience. The HOLE in the conscience would be REWARDED by the act, not betrayed by it.

Even if that weren't true, how can it be acceptable to impugn the President's honor with this kind of crap?

Hey, Chicago! Stop electing crooks who appoint crooks and who do business with crooks, and who the U.S. Attorney is will matter a lot less.

Read the article and then say that.
The article is not very far off, Fitzgerald one of the few forces that dare stand up to the combine of Illinois politics.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
Naah
Strike that out. Couldn't have written it that well. Period.
Very well put.

....came the wreck of the Patrick Fitzgeraaaaalllld.
I noticed that this mook's last name is Byrne. I wonder if he's any relation to former Chicago mayor Janye Byrne. If so, that would explain his interest in political corruption ion Chicago.
To: RWR8189
Fitzgerald one of the few forces that dare stand up to the combine of Illinois politics. Well, if that's true, then maybe Fitzgerald has an insatiable need to stand up to power...even when it betrays the facts or good judgment, as in the Plame investigation.

BS. This is a lose lose for Bush.
If he appoints him, or promotes him, it will be called a pay off for services rendered. If he does not reappoint him, we get crap like this.

Reappointing him U.S. Attorney for Northern Illinois wouldn't have anything to do with his status as special prosecutor in the Plame thing.

wouldn't have anything to do with his status as special prosecutor in the Plame thing. I was not implying that it did. But if Bush appoints him to anything, it could be portrayed, by some, as a pay off for not indicting Karl Rove.
