Where Democrats Star in 'The Party of the Living Dead'
The NYT ^ | July 9, 2006 | PETER APPLEBOME

The bad news for New Jersey Democrats is that they have now written the script for the world's cheesiest political horror movie.

This was a very funny editorial, dissing Dems, and written by a disillusioned-sounding Dem writer.

He was saying how the Northeast, specifically, NY, CT and NJ, should be leading the way for the Dem Party, yet, they can't find their way. He wrote something like it doesn't matter that Republicans have driven their truck off the road, the Dems still don't know how to drive. Something like that. He was criticizing CT for the Lieberman mess, with the left blogosphere going crazy in their effort to oust LIberman; NJ with their recent budget shut-down and tax increase; and, NY, where gay marriage was defeated by the courts.

He said Eliot Spitzer, the NYS AG running for NYS gov, has promised to bring back the gay marriage issue, but the editorial ends on a dismissive note saying this is probably not the issue that will nationally brings Dems together.

What I found so interesting about this editorial is that even if you think, just for a minute: "OK, I will try to forgive the Dems for all their past screw-ups"; even if you think that for a fleeting moment, wham! You read a current editorial like this -- and you realize: You can't. This Dem Party is "The Party of Total Screw Ups" aka: "The Party of the LIving Dead" -- and that's that.

The Democrats are like the characters in "Dumb and Dumberer." Every day, they look for new ways to become even more stupid.

(The Palestinian terrorist regime is the crisis and Israel's fist is the answer.)

What's really amazing is that: it doesn't seem to matter (1) where Americans are on the issues and (2) what is happening with the GOP. The Dems, all by themselves, with their total lack of leadership, can foul everything up amyway. They can't get ahead in politics no matter what. It's pretty amazing.

The Dems, all by themselves, with their total lack of leadership, can foul everything up anyway. They can't get ahead in politics no matter what. It's pretty amazing.

I would like to read the rest of the article but since it is from the NY Times and requires payment I will avoid it like the plague.

I have long thought that adults who share a household -- not necessarily in a sexual relationship, but perhaps elderly men or women who are close friends, or college students still romming together, or whatever -- should have legal rights under law if in fact they both want those rights (like the right to visit the person in the hospital. etc.). But I just don't think gay marriage is something we will ever see in this country. In other countries, yes, but not here. It is really a losing issue for Democrats.

BTW, I meant to tell you: I did not purchase "Times Select" either. I happened to read this article in a hard copy of the newspaper.
