I don't know where to post this, so here is as good as any - why don't the Israelis simply slowly take back the Gaza Sprip north to south? As the Palistinians realize they will soon be Egyptians they will be forced to stop this madness.

They are Egyptians. But they've become so radicalized by this fiction of 'palestine' that Egypt doesn't want them back.

I believe I read where Egypt sent thousands of troops to the border in order to keep the Palestinians from fleeing into their country.

I think because they will be berated by the international community. I think the Israeli actions so far have been defenseable...few women and children, etc. Their unrelenting pressure is great.

Many of them are of Egyptian heritage anyway. Yassar Arafat was. However parts of the Egyptian Army are stationed on the Gaza/Egypt border right now, To ensure that the Palis don't come in to Egypt. The tend to cause problems werever they go. Ask Jordon, ask Lebanon, even ask Kuwait, where they sided with Saddam's troops when the latter invaded Kuwait.

Because in most of the western world, especially Europe, Israelis are viewed as occupiers. Misinformation I know, but that's the reality. Israel needs to go on a PR offensive as well as a military one.

As the Palistinians realize they will soon be Egyptians they will be forced to stop this madness.

The madness won't end until there is a winner and a loser, and you know who the winner has to be. Israel's wall has been a terrific success. I hope this latest offensive is successful as well, and I think Israel is allowed to do this because they have a friend in the White House who knows who the good guys and bad guys are in this conflict, though he's been fairly quiet about it.
