Late again...

I haven't read the thread yet, but you were right Phsspok, Chris Wallace DID ask Hoekstra about that "leaked" letter.

However, I find it rather ironic and disingenuous of the Congressman, that the letter was sent at the exact same time of the confirmation of the CIA director, Hadley, who Hoekstra was ADAMANTLY against...

Also..Fox News just said that Hoekstra was "tipped" on the alleged intel program that Hoekstra has had his feelings hurt over, by a "whistleblower" who contacted him from the agency.

HMMMMMMM...so, NOW, they are "whistleblowers" that go to a representative...but, STILL get their story in the New York Times...JUST as the Senate and House are huffing and puffing over other programs and planning investigative hearings about..

This stinks from top to bottom to me.

Hoekstra was on the losing side of an internal CIA turf war. He has let it effect him adversely. I no longer find him a credible source.

And was Hoeckstra asked how his letter of complaint to the President just happened to find it's way to the NYSlimes?

I am also very late to this thread as I tape and watch this program after Church.

I am from Michigan and have followed Hoekstra for sometime. This is my take and it is complete conjecture.

Hoekstra and Goss were very close. Goss helped Hoekstra get the gig as Chairman of the committee. I think Goss was sick of getting stepped on by Negroponte and informed Pete of a program that he was not in the loop on. Pete goes to the administration and asked what is up and why is Negroponte not telling us about this stuff. Bush has to choose who to support. The resignation points to who he chose.

I would be very interested in the exact date that letter was sent and how close it was to the resignation.

Hope Hoekstra is happy being a Congress critter. This may feed his ego to whore after the Junk Media's love and grandstand like this, Republicans voters, however, do not reward political treason. Pity we do not have a strong Congressional leadership. This would be one seat to cut a drift. Delay would of told him " Dumb move Pete. Now go get yourself elected, no money, no support and next Congress, no Chairmanship. Oh, and don't bother writing any earmarks or bills, they are DOA".
