Re: Richardson...too bad these nominees don't seem to have to go through the "confirmation" process that cabinet members have to.

He isn't in Congress...but, I don't see where the candidates have to go through hearings..to see if they have "ghosts" in their past or are qualified.

If a candidate doesn't have a challenger that has the money, the will or knowledge how to dig into their past...that candidate can get into Congress...and affect an awful lot of lives.

#440, I don't know how many people that are conservative have told me that they have to impress upon their children and grandchildren that if they do not do something now that life as we know it will be gone. The reason that they fight so hard in every campaign is that they see how bad it can be when the dems are in charge. They butt into every aspect of your life and try to push their agenda on average citizens that are not paying attention. we mostly agree that the most important thing we can tell them is to pay attention and watch what they do, not necessarily what they say because they lie with impunity. When people know what their ideas are the dems always lose the majority of Americans.

Oh..okay, you are right...I keep getting confused on the "language" of politics..

There are some that are backing Lamont though, right??

And then there are the ones that will back who wins the primary..but, don't care.

Are there any that support an indepedent candidacy if Lamont wins the primary?

I have been kind of non-commital on Chris Wallace as a host...even though I miss Tony doing it...and love Brit when he steps in..

However, with Chris' performance that I am watching NOW...I have decided I don't like him...he talked all over Burns...but let Wendy Sherman say things that he didn't challenge..

pfffffft

Excellent point. I would vote for a polygraph in a heart beat!It would get rid of a lot of dirtbags we don't need in high offices.

Good catch, I too am not a Wallace fan at all.As far as I am concerned he could scrap their person of the week or whatever and extend the time for the panel.

Hope that link works, it is from the Hartford Courant.

Richardson may have a hard time even being VP candidate the way the MSM keeps pushing Osama Obama as the next POTUS or VP.

Playing both ends against the middle, I guess.

Which is exactly how the Clintons operate. They make sure they gain from a stance or statement, no matter who is in the way. And that stance isnt made or the statement isnt made until it is optimized for maximum benefit to them. Say what you want about these grifters, but they are brilliant operators. An example-people actually believe both are Clintons "centrists" or moderates. Another example-Hillary's stance on Iraq. By backing the war and earning the ire of the moonbats, she is banking on enough couch potatoes believing she is a Hawk and will act like one if elected. That is the perception they have cultivated..

You are very right...the MSM show McCain ALL the time, Rudy a little bit, but it is always as "America's Mayor"..and positive...

Sen. Allen doesn't even make it to the Senate floor very often...he needs to get a GOOD PR person if he is going to even sniff a primary challenge.

I listened pretty close to what Wendy Sherman said..because of what I heard on a talk show...where it was said she admitted that the Clinton Admin had NO intention of keep the USA's part of the "deal" that Jimmah Carter and others made with NK.

Today...she went on and on, trying to make it sound like NK did NOT proceed with nuke capability until AFTER Bush became president...but, in the same interview she admitted that Maddie even had to admit that something was wrong..after a visit to NK during the Clinton Admin. to the town where all of the secret activity WAS going on...

She also said that even our side didn't follow up on OUR part of the deal...and this had to happen before Bush..

BUT, Chris did NOT ask her what she meant about the USA not doing their job....pffffft

#508 excellent thoughts, and I skimmed though a thread the other day on FR that cast some doubt on John Howard retaining his leadership. I am sure that GWB has his top advisers working on the possible World leader relationships that he will have in his last 2 and 1/2 years in office. On this Hemisphere Canada and Mexico are good so far. We await the rest of the world, but you are right it is an ever changing Horizon for World Leadership and can be at best tentative at this time.

#513, I sure agree on that, and I never could figure out why someone that was treated like a red haired step child could not only stay with those louts, but act priggish and snooty in that "I am superior " attitude. He acted like those people really cared a whit what he thought. David Brinkley did care what he thought and George never acted like he was better than him. I really miss David Brinkley, he kept all those lefties from acting like DUmmies, and was always a Southern Gentlemen. One of the best things I ever remember is when he insulted Clinton, but his colleagues never stopped dissing him for that off the reservation moment.
