I actually heard the program when Loftus made that comment about China 'testing' our radar capabilities. He thinks they want to disable our radar in preparation for them attacking Taiwan.
Loftus tends to be over the top at times, but this scenario seems plausible.

NK wasn't going to test before they were going to test.

#60, excellent reference that is what I recall also. They think People have short memories, and will not call them on this. That was probably true before the Bloggers and the NEW Media. I cannot imagine how they can juggle not trashing Jimmah carter, and blaming GWB when he was Texas Governor during their inept relations with NK. They are really sounding like they are all nuts with their convoluted thinking. I probably would be as nutty as they are if I tried to keep all the old Fools like Carter on the Reservation while explaining all this so that it makes sense. It may have been possible with just the DBM,but they do not operate by themselves anymore.

Captain's Quarters has done an analysis arguing that Kudlow overstates the case, that it's 11+ percent, not 20, adjusting for inflation.
Kudlow Overplays A Winning Hand
Larry Kudlow takes issue with the media for underreporting and distorting the Bush administration's record on the economy in his Townhall column today. Kudlow has an excellent point, as media outleys have all but ignored the Bush economic engine and the tax cuts that fuelled it. Unfortunately, Kudlow distorts it himself in an attempt to gild the lily...
The point about lil Timmah is still valid, but I'm glad to see "our side" doing fact checking on our own stuff. It adds credibility. It's a very good analysis and adds to Kudlow's points as well as providing the correction for inflation (assuming he didn't forget to "carry the 2" himself.

The ultimate goal of the NYT is to undermine the United States. It's been that way for many many decades.

According to Rush......Wendy Anderson and Madeline Albright are partners in a consulting business, using their expertise in dealing with NK as their calling card.

We all seem to notice that Buffalo Butt Russert hunch when he is questioning/grilling (trying to intimidate)Pubbies, but is laid back and friendly with Dems. I wish one of the Pubbies would sniff the air, make a terrible face, then offer Buffalo Butt a "Certs" or "Tic Tac",then sit farther away from him. I would pay money to see that exchange. LOL!

Speaking of Chinese ambitions in the world, I am continually waiting for the"media' to share with Americans the reach that China really has into our economy. Don't hold your breath maica.
Just like I heard Lanny Davis say to Christina van den Commie this morning "we are fellow travelers". So are the chinese and much of the Drive-bys. They are not about to say anything bad about their big buds.
One thing that worries a lot of people is the amount of foreign debt that china holds of ours. Billions and billions.
It's one thing for a Japan or another ally to hold such debt but China....that's another. If china gets big enough, and they are headed that way, they could slowly plan to sink our economy and not get hurt at all. Simply shift production and sales to other countries which they are doing as fast as humanly possible now.

It's a tough call and few out there are making any tough calls these days. As for iran,(notice both countries are run by psycho/wack-jobs)our best hope remains dissension from within possibly leading to regime change.
This, IMHO, is the heart of the matter. As you suggest, there are no convenient solutions. As a career naval person, I too have to reign in my combative approach to these terribly complex issues. I think the situation is now more like 1936 Europe than we think. Churchill saw the writing on the wall and was vilified for his vision. After all of the hoped for easy solutions were exhausted, the inevitable war exploded. Now, the DPRK and the IRA are malignant tumors caused by the underlying disease of totalitarianism. Bush is and was justified in branding them as great dangers.
But the appeasers won't have anything to do with the required surgical procedures to remove the scum until there is no other choice-- as will most likely be evidenced by terrorists using WMD obtained from one of these swine. For now, we need to work diplomatically but make it very clear to our enemies that a devastating military/naval force developed at great cost over generations will not be held in check forever. Another attempt to launch a long range missile in the direction of the US must be met with immediate and overwhelming force. China and South Korea, who both currently have their hands in our pockets, must be put on notice that we will not sacrifice our security for any other nation's survival and that they have a huge stake in eliminating the North Korean dictator as well.
Finally, Iran cannot be saved from destruction if it continues down its current path. I have to believe that unhappy elements in that country must know that a powerful military presence is being installed next door. In time, if there is any left, those elements may change things; but we must not fail them.
I truly wish that things were different.

I don't think China will make a grab for Taiwan until just after they host the 2008 Olympics. After that, it seems likely (probably just after GWB leaves office in 2009).

Great job phsstpok! I especially liked the Link to an Fr thread that showed how GWB "did steal the Mexicon election", a fact we all knew anyway!
Makes you wonder how GWB does all these things but we all know he's a huge elections thief and has all these secret computers and elections elves that he just spirits out whenever, wherever(.Wow tin hat alert for some who can fabricate anything)

One incident I was told about Russert's invovement, Samantha. Al Gore after month-long fight conceded the election, after SC's ruling. But Russert was angry then and didn't want to let it go.
So, he took lead in organizing a media-recount that lasted 8 months, costed 18 million for 8 news organizations and came-up with NOTHING. That was just the start. To this day, MSM is continuing their war on the Prez.

Good point on the Olympics in China. Loftus sees bogey men and dire consequences all the time. He's often wrong.
If China has intentions on Taiwan I just dont' see how that helps them at all. But they do like to saber rattle and throw the monkey wrench into our plans for a more peaceful world. Just their way and we'd do well not to forget that.

I have seen, in this thread, several references to the fact that it would be immoral if NK were allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Since when has the consensus changed from they have them already to we mustn't let them develop them?
