Bible prophecy being fullfilled right before our eyes:

I Timothy 4:1-2, Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

II Timothy 4:3-4, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Can anyone who takes bible prophecy seriously doubt that we are living in the "latter times" just before the return of Jesus Christ? I don't.

the same could be said about the Democratic Party. Their slide is only halted by the longer life of people after retirement. If people over 65 had not extended their lives to 80 there would be 10 million fewer votes in elections - mostly on the side that has a D next to the candidate.

The boomer's kids are not fooled by their liberal parents. Divorce and the yuppie lifestyle did not help kids. So,they are rejecting their parents if it feels good do it mantra.

You seem to hav missed the point. No dimunition of Scripture, just a fact-check to ensure that people understand that having one common pastor as an earthly leader is as Christian as you can get. That is what united the Church for 1500 centuries. And certainly for the first 300 years when there was no NT.

The Catholic Church eventually declared that the books of the NT were all the Word of God. Prior to that they were just books that had good teaching in them. Contemporary books of similar stature up until that point (e.g. other "gospels") were NOT declared to be the Word of God by the Catholic Church and thus do not have that status today.

Popes are bound by Catholic doctrine, so the pope can't mess doctrine up. The pope may be infallible in theory, but the exercise of that infallibility is almost non-existent, and has only been exercised regarding things long accepted as true - since the days of the orignial apostles. The Word of God does change - all yo have to do is go to a bibkle store and ten compare the text of the different versions.

With every election, the Geritol voters disappear. My dear father, who passed on last year, was a liberal Democrat. I never allowed politics to get in the way of family. Now if only the Democrats wouldn't let politics get in the way of working with people they don't always agree with, the country would be much better off. Until they get that, they will continue to lose voters even as they can't forge a connection with the new generation.

The Mormon Church is growing exponentially. It is now doubling in size every ten years and that rate of increase is expected to speed up.

Not quite. It's a social club. It's at this point that they should clearly have their tax status revoked, because they're no longer a house of worship - they're just a bunch o' liberals.

I'm pretty sure that the same thing is happening in the Jewish community as well. That the more liberal the congregation, the smaller those congregations tend to get over time. I believe that the fastest growing congregations, and segment of Judaism in the US is the Orthodox movement, which also tends towards political conservatism.

My guess (for these trends in both Jewish and Christian traditions) is because the greater the strength of your belief, the greater the commitment and obligations you have. Something that I've noticed over the years is that the more liberal someone is, the less likely they are to honor their commitments, and will be more willing to "cut on run" on their obligations.

With all due respect, I disagree with you.

Churches that practice what I shall call "New Testament Christianity" are anything but novel. In fact, there's probably one in your town, or close to it.

You assert "The novel groups that have no core but the Bible... cannot weather the storms over the long haul and maintain the truth." I would suggest that in fact, it is God's Word as written by inspired men that has allowed "New Testament Christianity" to flourish as much as it has. The divisions in Christianity, I would suggest to you, come from uninspired individuals who fail to to study God's Word, and give it their due.

I suggest you surf around on http://searchtv.org/ and read a few sermons by Mack Lyon. He's been at the televangelism work for 25 years or so. The reason why you probably haven't heard of him before is because he never asks for money to keep his show on the air. The mere fact he continues to broadcast might give you some insight.

The Church will survive, inspite of crazies in the Liberal fringe. They Church is the living Body of Christ. Not the buildings and not false doctrines.
The modern movement is not all that different from Gnosticism that plauged the Church in its infancy. And the Church is still here.

These denominational heirarchies are not social clubs/ They are political institutions aligned with global socialism. These organizations are not headed by men of the faith but by power mongers eager to do social revolution to end the influence of traditional morality and Christian faith.
The United Methodist Church is among the most compromised denomination in Christianity. Their Council of Bishops lacks a single member committed to the Word. They have become despotic and malicious toward people of the Way of Christ.
It is heartening to see citizens of this country turning away from so-called liberal Christianity in numbers that will marginilize mainline denominationalization in one generation.
