The leftists will NEVER go for Bayh.
Bayh Bayh byrdie..
He's a regular guy who believes the same thing Hillary believes.
Bayh has been groomed for this ever since Birch sprouted his first woodie.
He'll bide his time, try to avoid doing or saying anything toooo controversial. Unless the anti-war Left gets smacked down before '08, I think he'll sit it out. They'll eat him alive.
Shoot...the leftists are ready to run Lieberman out of town..and Lieberman has a lot more "cred" than Bayh ever has.
I love the last line, that quotes Chris Lehane..saying he isn't working for any candidate...
I wonder if it is because no candidate wants the punk.
***"I have a proven track record of doing something this president said he would do and never did, and that's being more of a uniter than a divider, reaching out to independents, reasonable Republicans as well as all of our Democrats," Bayh said. **
President Bush tried, he tried hard, to unite the two parties. he was fought tooth and nail at every move. the dems were determined to pronounce him as illigitimate in his first campaign and to get him impeached in his second.
You cannt unite a party that refuses to be united and is determined to fight you at every step. Certainly we are far apart now and the Dems have to take full blame for it.
They have fought way past what should be considered proper and have crossed over to treason in several area's.
Beware, folks. Evan Bayh is a Clinton-esque triangulator with an "aw shucks" image. He's also got a 100% ranking from NARAL, a 12% ranking from National Taxpayers Union, and a single digit ranking from the NRA.
Nobody wants to cross Hitlery at this stage if they can avoid it.
Ping
Centrist, my ass. Bayh is a socialist, plain and simple. He's just another John Edwards.
There is zero chance that Hillary will not get the nomination. Bayh will just run a friendly campaign and avoid making enemies as a build up to future efforts.
I agree, but he's not nearly far left enough for the Moveon crowd.
The only way Hitlery doesn't get the nomination is if BJ doesn't want her to and with those two, you never know.
LOL, can't wait for your comments!
If Hillary were to get the nomination, I think Bayh would be a strong choice for VP. Mid-western, family image, who might just swing enough votes in neighboring Ohio to put the state in the red column.
This guy doesn't have a lock on the nomination and Hillary doesn't either, no matter how much they talk about how she does.
Good analysis.
Earth to Evan... Bush and Rove are not running in 2008. And your fellow Democrats words and deeds are going to make it hard to run on a "tough and smart" platform.
