It is important to remember that Russia is not a European nation. It is an oriental despotism that has never been trusted by Europeans, and for good reason. Its promises are not worth a bucket of warm spit, and its political alliances have, and do now, favor the totalitarians.

I was watching a history show on the tele recently that covered the fall of Berlin. It showed the internal German perspective. There was a short speech given by one of the Nazi Generals. He was trying to rally citizens to defend Berlin. What was interesting was that after he referred to the 'West' as the English, he called the Russians, 'Mongols'.
Perhaps Hungary got its name from the invading Hun Hordes from the east.
