That is a very keen point and I agree with you.

Thats why (if necessary) we field the 90% version and use surprise & tactics to make up the difference. Remember how the Pave-Lows performed in DST1?

I have been lambasted on many thread about the V22 (and perhaps from a lack of communication). There are certainly missions the V22 could fit the bill for. Those would be where the inherent risks of the airframe ere overridden by the the parts of the mission it advances = ingress (outgress if needed), that is where your scenario plays in.

But the V22 as an everyday utility vehicle I still say No.

I heard the Marines are excited about getting their V22... so I think some of the naysayers should listen to the soldiers a bit... and indeed, if the V22 had been the size of the Pave Low, for rapid deployment and what not, it would have been a truer "do it all" capability replacement.
