Yup. And maybe my tinfoil chapeau is on a bit too tight, but I hope this doesn't mean there may be something in the wind security-wise, and the political angle's being used as an excuse so that 43 can operate out of DC without worrying the hoi polloi..

I take this to mean, the poster hopes the President is not leaving Washington because of fears for his physical security.

That said, I'm glad he's getting out of DC for the summer, "taking the word to the streets." W's much better on offense than defense.

the administration itself are forecasting a considerably slower summer and fall in terms of growth.

I think the demos/msm have already started distorting it. One more thing the President and his men need to get waaaay out in front of and make certain the American public hears this from "their mouth rather than demo spin.

I have my own method of determining how our economy is doing in simplistic terms. I drive 400 miles of Interstate highway once a month. When I see heavy traffic of the big rigs carrying goods - I know our economy is doing just fine and the demos are full of bs even with all their convoluted explanations of how we are doomed. How can the average American look around himself and believe all the doom and gloom.

Will Cindy remain in Crawford and watch the deserted G.W. farm, or will she adapt and be on stage wherever G.W. is scheduled to show up.
With her unlimited and by Soros financed travel/lodging expenses she just has to stay busy following her financiers requests and pursue G.W.

"How can there be a slowdown in the economy when the MSM has never admitted that the economy was heating up?"

Bingo. Some of the left wing lunatics, who spin DNC bs and pretend it to be financial news have been bleating for a few months that the current Bull Market may be weakening.

I have sent a few of them emails asking when they ever admitted that we were in a Bull Market and to cite when they did. None have gotten back to me.

Surprising Jump in Tax Revenues Curbs U.S. Deficit By EDMUND L. ANDREWS

WASHINGTON, July 8 — An unexpectedly steep rise in tax revenues from corporations and the wealthy is driving down the budget deficit this year, even though spending has climbed sharply because of the war in Iraq and the cost of hurricane relief.

On Tuesday, White House officials are expected to announce that the tax receipts will be about $250 billion above last year's levels and that the deficit will be about $100 billion less than what they projected six months ago. The rising tide in tax payments has been building for months, but the increased scale is surprising even seasoned budget analysts and making it easier for both the administration and Congress to finesse the big run-up in spending over the past year.

Tax revenues are climbing twice as fast as the administration predicted in February, so fast that the budget deficit could actually decline this year.

The main reason is a big spike in corporate tax receipts, which have nearly tripled since 2003, as well as what appears to be a big rise in individual taxes on stock market profits and executive bonuses.

On Friday, the Congressional Budget Office reported that corporate tax receipts for the nine months ending in June hit $250 billion — nearly 26 percent higher than the same time last year — and that overall revenues were $206 billion higher than at this point in 2005.

Congressional analysts say that the surprise windfall could shrink the deficit this year to $300 billion, from $318 billion in 2005 and an all-time high of $412 billion in 2004.

Republicans are already arguing that the revenue jump proves their argument that tax cuts, especially the 2003 tax cut on stock dividends,

Hey Nedra, roll that up and smoke it.!

Well, I'm just wondering if there might be intel about a possible attack this summer and 43 doesn't want to be caught in Crawford. The political reasoning I don't get. Off-year election voters are a lot like primary voters, the true believers. 43 doesn't really need to rally them much. Unless he's worried about them staying home, I suppose, which given the state of affiars lately I can believe. Then there's also the money aspect. Though with most seats not in play and the GOP raking in the dough, don't see much to worry about there, either.

But if 43's just doing this to stick it the libs, fine by me. I especially admire his guts in taking the attack to the belly of the beast, like Philly.

Not 43's personal security. The nation's.

Thanks to both of you!!

I think he deserves a good long vacation....and am more than annoyed with Sheehan interrupting his time in Crawford last year and her plans to do the same this year

...(she couldn't be doing any of this without funding...someone has very deep pockets)....

...So anything to foil her dastardly plans is great news....

..I just hope he gets the downtime he needs...

.....and mewzilla I hope you're wrong on this one, mister (or ma'am), about the security issue....(scary!)...

..but things sure are heating up around the planet, and I don't mean global warming.

Are you sure your mommy isn't calling you to come in for your lunch and nappy nap? Your childish insults don't make the President look bad, just you. When you grow up, get back to us with something worth taking up space on a political discussion site.

With a Savage-ite? More like insanity.

Immaturity seems tame, by comparison, but the freeflowing insults are cheapening and demeaning us all, right along with our President.

If the mods allow the insults, I'm gonna insult 'em right back. Not 24/7 of course, but if and when I feel like it.

Me, too! Though I'm not sure a sitting POTUS ever really gets one :(

.....and mewzilla I hope you're wrong on this one, mister (or ma'am)...

In this case, I'll be delighted and grateful to be wrong :)

(It's ma'am, BTW :)
