"It has superior stealth, mobility, and survivability, which is rated as comparable to Ohio-class submarine of U.S."
I'm not trying to underestimate the enemy here and I'm no sub afficionado, but isn't the Ohio class that gigantic type of sub we developed for the Cold War? I think we stopped making it ten or fifteen years ago. Leads me to believe the above isn't much of a complement. Or am I dead wrong?

Re #10
It is just saying that China is doing well compared with other countries, excluding the top two, U.S. and Russia.

I thought our new subs were the Virginia class.

Leads me to believe the above isn't much of a complement. Or am I dead wrong? The Ohio class are considered to be the quietest ballistic missile submarines ever built. To say that the Chinese SSBN is as quiet is a definite complement, and something I have trouble believing.

wrong on that one my friend. The Ohio class, is the newest class of FBM ( missile carrying boat) the navy has. It goes to sea and literally disappears in the ocean for 1 1/2 to 2 months at a time. hardest class to find once it goes out. I know, been on them, and on SSNs trying to hunt them.

The only thing the new Chinese boat has in common with the Ohio is its SSBN designation (though four of the Ohio class boats have been modified to carry Cruise missiles - 154 of them - as opposed to 24 Trident SLBMs and are now designated SSGN). Other than that, the Chinese boats will not compare at all in terms of endurance, firepower, stealth, quietness, speed, etc.
