It is a conservative web site. Conservatism has to do with political viewpoints, not religion, though. Maybe that's where you're confused.
Some Christians believe the Genesis story is an accurate rendering of what actually occurred. More Christians, however, believe that it is allegorical.
It is possible to be a conservative, yet not a Young Earth Creationist. In fact, most here on Free Republic fit that description.
Please don't confuse conservatism with fundamentalist Christianity. The two are not the same thing.

I have been a Christian for 35 years, a minister, and theologian. I have both liberal and conservative friends, who are lay people and theologians. You are dead wrong regarding most Christians believing the Genesis story is allegorical.
