That's how it was in the 40s-80s. Even the Newt era. But they've been viciously purged by the neocons now. Just read NRO or TWS or watch FOX. "Libertarian" is the worst epithet now. But, communist Chris Hitchens gets great respect.

Yes, the RP has moved so far to the left it has become a wing of the DP. The purging of libertarians from the RP swings the balance of power to the socialists. If libertarians don't vote for Republicans, Republicans can't win.

Having watched the last 15 years of Republicans in Congress, the last six in control of Congress and the WH, and finally the intolerance, namecalling, and outright bigotry of this thread, has convinced me once and for all that I'm not interested in ever seeing another Republican win any office anywhere.

Since the Republican Party obviously does not agree with my fiscal conservatism and my Laissez Faire attitude toward social issues, a third party vote is the only choice.
