Watching the Shrek bloopers leads me to believe you are wrong... they had a bunch of computer animation errors in the outtakes.

The closest thing to a blooper is a technical or rendering issue. Think of it like this, an animation is like a novel and a "blooper" is like a miswritten chapter.

Like a writer has to write it for you to read it, an animator has to animate it for you to watch it.
