Is there a source for the AP language police guide?
It seems it would have many interesting reveals about AP language.
The "AP stylebook" can read any way it wants. A terrorist is still a terrorist, and a homosexual is still a homosexual (or, as some refer to as "queer").
The apnytcnnabcnbclatcbs cabal can't control either the English language or an individual's opinions anymore. Those days are over.

Well, they probably do run in different social circles than you do...
Seriously, gays and lesbians generally have a different social life. They seem to go out to clubs and attend parties and participate in a events (music, arts and social gatherings) that consist of other adults like themselves rather than family stuff.
For example, in Michigan, it's:
Motor City Pride.com http://www.motorcitypride.com/ in June.
Hotter Than July in July http://www.hotterthanjuly.com/ in July.
Michigan Womyn's Music Festival http://www.michfest.com/ in August.
And the largest resort in Michigan with events all year long seems to be the Dunes Resort http://www.dunesresort.com in Saugatuck.
So the cultural and social differences seem to be mostly adult events and partying instead of doing family stuff with those pesky kids...
They are trying to downplay the sex. The GLBT employee resource group at work has changed the B from "Bisexual" to just "Bi". SO GLBT = Gay Lesbian Bi Transgender. See, no mention of that word "sexual" there...
I understand GLAAD has some individual members that belong to all 5 of these groups
