For you freepers who would be moved to do so, I ask for your prayers for my niece and her 2 children. The husband/father was killed in a firefight Tuesday night near the Pakistan border. He was a National Guardsman in his mid forties and had 2 months left in country. He had served a short tour in Bosnia 2 years ago as well. He was training Afghani troops and had just been moved to the border region. Besides my niece he leaves behind a 9-year old son and a 4-year old daughter. Everyone is in shock at the suddenness of it all. This man was a patriot and a hero who died for the country he loved.

We are blessed as a nation to have brave warriors and equally brave families who support those warriors.
God Bless this dear man's family. Especially be with his children as they grow up without their father. Help them to always remember what a hero their father is.
