"If Lamont beats Lieberman, he'll be the next Senator from CT.

I don't think so Big Sky. See my post #196.

Well, this election won't be about jobs, health care, women's rights, and the environment. Hell, any one of those issues is pretty low on the priority scale of most average Americans. This election by the Democrats is a referendum on Bush and his so-called "illegal war".

Lamont said he was going to Washington because he can't find common ground with the President, and that more jobs need to be created, health care is a mess, and women's rights need to be protected.

Lamont is running because he's an anti-war candidate, all that other jive is noise just to fool people he's not running on one issue.

There's not question he'll run as an independent if he loses. He eluded to that during the debate.

Lamont is a single issue anti-war nut who found a niche among the Dem base. The Lamont/Lieberman primary is sort of like the Jacobs/Cannon primary that just occured on the GOP side (not that Jacobs is a weird lunatic like Lamont, but that the race featured two 90% conservative candidates and the single issue seperating them was immigration)

Conn. is a heavily Dem state so it was just Lamont vs. Schlesinger in the general election, Lamont could probably pull it off even though he won't poll well with the general electorate.

HOWEVER, with a three way race between Lamont (DEM), Lieberman (INDP), and Schlesinger (GOP) in November, there's a real chance of a GOP upset. The Reagan Democrats and left-leaning independants will support Lieberman and will not stomach Lamont's screwy rhetoric.

The key to pulling that off is all Republicans to leave the Dems alone while self-desturct and focus on funding/stumping for Schlesinger. ALL Republicans/Conservative MUST unite arond Schlesinger to pull this off in a heavily Dem state. We have a problem because a number of freepers seem to have drank the Lamont kool-aid about Lieberman being Bush's water boy. The same freepers proclaimg Lieberman should be a Republican are the ones screeching about how Lamont is evil incarnate. If they hate him so much, why are they buying his talking points about Lieberman?

Ironic, ain't it?

Senate vote to withdraw troops from Iraq IMMEDIATELY
AYES - 6
NAYS - 93

Senate vote on establishing a future set deadline to withdraw troops from Iraq
AYES - 13
NAYS - 86

Even IF Lamont managed to get elected to the Senate, the moonbat cut-and-run membership of the Senate would increase from 13 to 14 in Jaunary 2007. Wow, what a "victory" for their cause.

On ALL OTHER VOTES, the makeup of the Senate would NOT change, since Loserman ALREADY votes reliabley liberal 90% of the time and got a 95% rating from Americans for Democratic Action last year.

We "need" Lieberman in the Senate like we Specter running the Judicary committee.

Freepers should be rooting for Lamont to win the RAT primary, as he'd greatly increase our chances of defeating the Dems and winning Conn. in November.

I thought the same thing until recently but, it's not likely. I don't think the GOP has a formidable candidate lined up for this race. The Pubbies and the Hawkish Dems will put Lieberman back in office as an Independent; not a DemocRAT

Regardless. No Rep should be supporting Lieberman over the Rep candidate.
