Besides, I thought all the Spetznaz troops worthy of the name went to work for the russian mafia years ago.
My Russian wife's nephew is a helluva good soldier and Spetsnaz. He has 19 years in the army, and 5 tours in Chechnya and one in Dagistan.
Sasha is her nephew Put your cursor on the picture for information.

Again, if Putin can't stop them in his own backyard we don't need him anywhere else. Be like asking the French to participate, why?

My Russian wife's nephew is a helluva good soldier and Spetsnaz. I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't. I was commenting on the well known fact that after the fall of the wall and the Soviets, many of Russias spec operators, as well as KGB, GRU folks went into more lucrative trades when the government checks stopped coming on a regular basis.
In short, I was making a joke with a basis in fact.
And it's good to hear that not all Russia's experienced spec-ops people bailed out and went to work for the mob.
