3 HOURS ON QNS. STREET ALL IT TAKES TO GET FORGED PAPERS IN SECURITY SHOCKER
CAUGHT IN ACT: Post reporter Douglas Montero (left) shakes hands with shady documents dealer "Flaco" Photo: Matthew McDermott
NEW YORK POST INVESTIGATION For an illegal immigrant desperately seeking to work in NY City, getting a high-quality forged green card or Social Security card is almost as easy as buying a soft-shell taco....... this reporter arranged a face-to-face meeting in Queens with a 20-something Hispanic man known in the neighborhood as "Flaco" - the Spanish word for thin......Flaco didn't appear threatening at all - surprising, considering that these sophisticated green-card mills are run by vicious Latin American gangs. The groups carve up territory block by block and use bullets to deal with competitors who venture onto their lucrative turf. We spoke only in Spanish.
The sale of these fraudulent cards is a cottage industry that rakes in millions a year - but no one knows the number of green cards sold daily here. Based on the quality of the work and low cost, from $75 to $120, it appears certain the industry is flourishing.
Immigration experts who reviewed my fake green card agreed the document looks authentic - but said that upon closer examination, slight flaws became obvious.
Buyers wrongly believe the fakes can be used to get driver's licenses, open bank accounts, travel domestically and allow them to function like any other legal resident. But the cards will get illegals a lifetime ban from the United States if they are caught. "Anyone who starts using fake IDs is putting themselves in more hot water - if they get caught, they'll get deported and it will be a lifetime deportation," said Antonio Meloni, director of the Queens-based Immigration Advocacy Service Inc.

BUMP!
how long before they issue implanted microchips?
Well, at least until the next time they sneak over the border.
Tamperproof ID works for me. I've got a passport. Why am I gonna have a cow about a gov't issued ID card?
We should demand Mehico assist the US in keeping these criminals on their home turf instead of corrupting and draining our SS system, as well as criminals using fake ID's to take jobs from Americans and---more outrageously---to fraudulently vote and tip US elections in their favor.
At the recent street protests the illegals ranted about taking over the US with the vote, or with violence, if necessary.
I must have missed it in his latest Press Release.

"Tamper-proof ID's replacing SS card or green card could fix 90% of fake-ID trafficking."
There is no such thing as a tamper-proof ID.
Anyone who says there is has something to sell you.
The only solution to illegal immigration is employer sanctions and a wall. Better green cards are only a stopgap until the illegals figure out how to fake them again. And making everyone carry a tamper-proof SS card is creating an even worse problem than the problem it purports to solve.
Excuse me...I meant "...making everyone carry a 'tamper-proof'..."
For those that believe Hispanics are natural Conservatives. From Polipundit:
Strawman, Mexican Migrants = Natural Republican Voters
I am extremely thankful that fellow guest blogger knighthawk has enlightened myself with the yesterdays elections in Mexico. That knowledge has allowed myself the ability to finally throw a match on our friend Strawman and turn him into a pile of smoldering ash.
On this blog, and others, there has been an undercurrent among the open borders faction that providing a path to citizenship to the 11 million migrants would be a boon to the Republican Party. They do this while ignoring the fact that Bush was only able to gain 40% of the overall hispanic vote, which included the huge amount of legal Cuban support in Florida that Republicans in general enjoy.
Here is a comment from this site made months ago, though there are similiar comments in the threads of many other blogs:
But anyone who knows Mexican immigrant families or has been to an inner city Catholic church in the last decade can see that they are natural conservatives. Dumb to push them away.
In the election on Sunday we learn the following from the liberal USAToday:
The two candidates were separated by fewer than a half-million votes, with more than 36 million counted in a preliminary tally. Conservative Felipe Calderon had 36.46% to leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obradors 35.41%, according to results from 95.9% of polling places
So, we have Republicans that are stating Mexican immigrant families
.. are natural conservatives while at the same time one third of the Mexican population goes to the polls and votes for a President that is described by USAToday as a leftist.
Path to citizenship for 11 million illegals = End of Republican party

Gerardo Luviano is looking for somebody to rent his Social Security number. Mr. Luviano, 39, obtained legal residence in the United States almost 20 years ago. But these days, back in Mexico....he is looking for an illegal immigrant in the United States to use it for him - providing a little cash along the way. "My brother in California has a friend who has crops and has people that need one."
Mr. Luviano's pending transaction is merely a blip in a shadowy yet vibrant underground market....undetected by American authorities, operating below the radar in immigrant communities from coast to coast, a secondary trade in identities has emerged straddling both sides of the Mexico-United States border.
Illegal immigrant workers usually earn so little they are owed an income tax refund...........The illegal immigrant "working the number" will usually pay the real owner by sharing the tax refund. Since legal American residents can lose their green cards if they stay outside the country too long, it is useful to have somebody working under their identity north of the border.
"Sometimes the one who is working doesn't mind giving all the refund, he just wants to work," said Fernando Rosales, who runs a shop preparing income taxes in the immigrant-rich enclave of Huntington Park, Calif.
The income tax "refund" is almost certainly generated by Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) fraud, which as a "legal resident" the number renter would qualify to receive, especially if they have have or claim children. The EITC is a "refundable tax credit, which means the IRS will pay it out even if no taxes have been withheld or paid in. So the IRS gives filers who claim the EITC "refunds," even if they have had no taxes withheld.
These number renters can claim up to $4,400 for the 2005 tax year in EITC "refunds," most of the number renters probably claim this maximum refund. The Additional Child Tax Credit is another "refundable" credit which is no doubt routinely claimed by these renters.
For 2005, if the number renter claimed $14,400 in wage income, and three children, between the EITC and the Additional Child Tax Credit the renter would, without having any taxes withheld from wages, receive a tax "refund" of $4,898, plus have $892 credited to Social Security; in addition to the potential of thousands of dollars in California unemployment compensation.
It occurs to me that Mr. M. could be putting his life on the line by going so public with his picture.
Fliers Dims handed out at illegals street protests.
Could be---Montero mentioned the viscious Latino gangs in the lucrative ID trafficking business.
Yet b/c of his position at the NY Post, it would seem less likely the gangs would take out a high profile reporter.
Besides, with the news spotlight thrown on them, it would be fairly easy to nail the culprits.

hahahaha, the lie of the century. Bush/Kennedy wants to give them amnesty and SS based on these fake iD's.
Bush Signaling Shift in Stance on Immigration
NY Times | 7/5/06 | SHERYL GAY STOLBERG
On the eve of nationwide hearings that could determine the fate of his immigration bill, President Bush is signaling a new willingness to negotiate with House Republicans in an effort to revise stalled legislation before Election Day.
Republicans both inside and outside the White House say Mr. Bush, who has long insisted on comprehensive reform, is now open to a so-called enforcement-first approach that would put new border security programs in place before creating a guest worker program or path to citizenship for people living in the United States illegally.
"He thinks that this notion that you can have triggers is something we should take a close look at, and we are," said Candi Wolff, the White House director of legislative affairs, referring to the idea that guest worker and citizenship programs would be triggered when specific border security goals had been met, a process that could take two years. .
I don't care what comes out of the White House. It is all just spin. I have absolutely NO faith that the President will do what is right for this country and enforce our immigration laws.
Pretty simple. Go on national TV (like he already did) and put the illegals on notice......."I am directing head of DHS to strictly enforce our immigration laws, against employers who hire illegals and any person here illegally. Employers of illegals will be prosecuted and fined and people here illegally will be fined, jailed and deported." Then do it. There would be a stampede for the border.
The power is in the President's hands, he just has no intention of using it. He wants these people here.
And he should add that any government agency, or political subdivision in any area of the US, that allows illegals to obtain benefits with phony documents, or that allows illegal to vote in US elections, will forfeit federal funds.
