Yes, similar but not widely supported. Early on Pence's plan received wide support but things were stalled until "the referendum" was over.
If you're interested in Tom Terrific's reason for opposing the Pence plan just visit his Team America website and scroll down to the Pence Plan link. Warning, it will redirect you to VDARE for their position.

You are just.... bizarre.
Cannon had a primary challenge, and won handily.
Now you are saying he "got the message"? That's such a Democrat tactic.
You need a new argument. Maybe admit that the people in Utah actually wanted to keep Cannon, and........oh why am I even wasting time on this. Nevermind.
To: Texasforever
I can't believe there is still debate here on the Cannon-won-but-really-lost issue.
To: imahawk
I love the spin we get on this by the AG, the president, the senate. they are trying to make it sound as if this is going to fly Agreed. Trying to make it sound like it is some sort of "middle ground" What a joke!
To: Rex Anderson
Exactly. If Cannon's "victory" was so meaningful, then why has Bush dumped the McCain-Kennedy bill?

"...and yes we would have preferred a different outcome..."
Seems like the majority of Republican Utah voters on the threads that night were perfectly happy with the results...and the fact that the out-of-state PACs were not able to hijack their election.

I have read the Pence plan. I wouldn't be supporting it if I hadn't.

Basically what the shamesty proponents are saying is that if Senator Lieberman wins his primary 56-44 over that DU clown, then the entire Democratic base now fully supports Bush on Iraq. Bingo.
BTW, if border enforcement advocates are discredited and amnesty is sailing forward uncontested by will of the people...why are they still on these threads?
Actions speak louder then spin folks.

Not quite, but who's counting.
Anyway, he did have a fight then, any idea why?

Tancredo is stopped in his tracks so a real solution can be passed. He is lucky to have an office to go to given the number of Conservatives he has slimed this year.

I would assume that his base support in the district is around 56%. He wins the generals by larger numbers. This idea that an incumbent has to win a primary challenge by 20 points or he is in trouble is nonsense.

In unrelate news, Italy knocked German out of the World Cup finals. Responding to his team's loss, the German coach responded, "You can see by the final score just how badly Italy won."

"...why are they still on these threads?"
Excellent point. The apologists do seem a bit worried still.
A standard tactic by these types of people is to tell you that the fight is over, you have lost, time to get aboard the train. That's just what they do when I fight new toll roads and the attempted conversion of freeways to toll roads, here in Texas. In fact, some of those same apologists for Governor Perry are on this thread.
Unfortunately for them this form of psychological peer pressure has only very limited effect on blogs (as opposed to face to face). They haven't figured this out yet, so they still look silly.
