This is technologically possible, buy legally impossible. Think of the liability if a car crashes on autopilot.

Just leave it up to the "driver" to engage the "active driver assistance" or not, and show that with the computer in charge, the number of accidents goes way down.

It brings an entirely new meaning to the hip-hop slang "ghost-riding your whip"...not to mention those three little words:

"You know what ve gonna do nowwww?"
"No."
"Unpimp your auto."

"within an inch" GPS units.

Statements like that one make you wonder what else in the article is not accurate.

Passenger: "Ok, car. Time to slow down now."

Car: "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that"

"This is technologically possible, buy legally impossible. Think of the liability if a car crashes on autopilot."

Isn't the idea to use this technology in a dedicated lane/highway situation? Where are the cars would be on autodriver between two points?

Same issues as if a car today crashes while on cruise control.
