Aldrin... was bashing conspiracy theorists as being useless people who contribute nothing to society.

Boy, has Dr. Aldrin ever got their number. Give 'em hell, Buzz. When you're done tuning them up maybe you can poke some of their TWA 800 brethren in the eye.

Crew is describing tank debris that went into orbit with them, and looked like straps, and had stiching on it. This is at the period after tank seperation and they were performing tank observation. They said debris was about 40 yds from shuttle. Dimensions of debris exceed 9 feet.

"Obviously I consider it one of the more interesting days of my life."

Sure sounds great. Ironically, up until the day before yesterday, I had thought that Cernan was as you said the last human with feet on the moon. I was in Barnes and Noble and saw that Jack Schmitt wrote a book that just came out. On its back cover, he claimed to be the actual last man on the moon. So I thought I learned something. Now you tell me this, so I guess Gene might be a little surprised to read his pal's back cover.

That passed over our house a few years back. We could see it with the naked eye.

Not in that much detail of course, (or ANY detail for that matter) but it was quite bright.

That should be one hell of a pass for you, we have a good one like that in PHX tonite.

It should be following within a half hour or so, not sure, may be too late, but at this point, you may have the shuttle about a half hour before the ISS at the same point. Keep looking at Heavens-above, once they get the shuttle loaded in you can check.

You're in the wrong place. This isn't a Tancredo thread.

Aldrin punching out that nutcase is one of the best moments in science in the last 20 years.

I can't wait for the moon nuts to come up with another conspiracy when we get our new lunar orbiter up next year, it will resolve down to 6 feet.

I get the same pass tonite, but it fades out just where the middle handle star in Ursa Major is at the same time.

Useless people who contribue nothing to society

I've seen some of those on FR. They're called Pat Buchanan supporters.

Anybody who believes that the manned moon landings was a hoax doesn't know anything about the NYT.
