Fewer secrets? Ok....coupled with fewer politicans. And I'd start with the senate. There is no reason today to have 100 senators...so lets cut them by 50 percent and limit it to one per state. I just saved the US government $250 million on office space, vehicles, travel, salaries, and personnel support.

So lets move on...to national parks. Establish 2012 as the final day that the US government pays any support for national parks. Either they survive by entry fees alone or they revert to state property. I just saved the nation another $750 million.

Finally, US troops. Bring them home from Japan, South Korea, Europe, Africa, etc. Other than real contingency operations...no more forward support. Our troops will spend their careers training and living in the US and only leave the country when wars or contingencies occur. I just saved the nation another $10 billion.

Perhaps Jimmy is thinking with only half his brain as usual....but if he'd consider the various wasteful areas of the government...we could make real change that people would appreciate.

An additional element to consider:

A Constitutional Amendment, along the lines of that which now limits the number of terms for President to a total of two (e.g., eight years period), for all elected/appointed positions within the Federal government, along with their staff personnel being subject to the same constraints.

Term limits by law is an idea whose time has come!
