Do liberals want us to lose the war? Do they hate Bush that much?

Yes. The left is scared to death of Bush because they think he's a "bible-thumping fanatic" who's going to force everyone to live by the golden rule. The "unjust war", "spying on Americans", "assault on the Constitution" are all secondary to their real fear, which is Christianity. They're afraid to admit this in public, but I'm convinced that this is what it boils down to.

As is usually the case in a three-way conflict, the two weaker sides tend to gang up on the strongest side.
