Note to Hollyweird: My offer to give you a hand with something that'll sell in the red bits is still open. Give me a call. I'll go through your slush piles.
I used to like going to the movies.

I'm certainly not one of the the "Superman purists" but everything I've heard about this movie makes it a no go for my family.

I truly think that only kids go to movies these days. When you see what movies make money...Adam Sandler's ridiculous CLICK made tons of money. I went to see The Lake House the other day. What a waste of time an money that was. I'd rather stay home and watch old movies any day of the week.

Clark Kent is an American citizen.

Clark Kent is an American citizen.
No, technically, he's an illegal alien:)

I think its a very good film, and calling him a dead beat dad is harsh. In reality its after Superman 2,You know when him and Lois got married ,he didnt know Lois was pregnant(so how could he be a dead beat) in fact he didnt know it was his son until near the end of the movie. This movie is getting a far worse rap than it deserves.

When I heard about the "American Way" getting the heave ho, I just rolled my eyes and thought, "What a bunch if Blue Stater B.S." The Hollywood Left is ashamed of America--especially now that a man of Christian character instead of a serial sex offender is in the White House.
I don't intend to see this film (my brother panned it). I really did enjoy the most recent Batman outing.

LOL. A wall won't stop him. Perhaps a wall made of kryptonite.

I have developed a suspicion that all these reports of anti-Americanism and moral turpitude are part of a well-crafted whisper campaign by rival studios.
Yes, I saw the movie. No, it's not perfect. But I did find it to achieve the primary objective of any film--I was entertained. I wonder what's more fantastical--the story involving an alien who gains superpowers from the yellow Sun of the Earth, or the belief that single mothers are somehow to be scorned. Hey folks, at least Lois had the baby and didn't get an abortion.
As for Superman abandoning America, if you actually saw the movie you would know he just broadened his scope a bit.

Yeah, we wouldn't want to "offend" any other countries, even if we have to offend our own country to do it.
Hopefully, if this box-office drop-off continues, Hollyweird will get the message.
the bottom line ($) is always the ultimate bottom line with lib/socialists and will trump loyalty every time.

Its too much a soap opera and not enough a violent action movie, that's the problem. People are still seeming to like it though. "The American way" may have turned off some people. The story is not that great either, although it does have some pretty good scenes. Its above average imo.

Clark was legally adopted by the Kents. Furthermore, in some Superman story I read as a kid, I remember they had mention of the fact that all the nations of the world passed laws recognizing Superman as a citizen of each, in gratitude for all the times he had saved the planet.
To: Behind Liberal Lines
Doesn't Lex Luthor in the movie imitate Bush's lines? I saw that in one of the promos.
To: LdSentinal
They shouldn't have given him a name. People who are neither named Clark nor Kent might be offended. They should have just stuck with Superm....uh, yeah, just 'Super' as we want to include all possible genders....but what about the Super challenged, might they too be offended???

That's sort of deadbeat.
