One of the best assets of this site is that it teaches us ALL to think before we post—and that especially applies to vanities.

Since experience is the best teacher, many of us have to go through this hazing ritual. Sometimes it happens in-thread and other times it gets a thread all it's own.

The result is that you learn to do your own research into the matter, freepmail a trusted fellow freeper so as to not embarrass yourself publicly, or do it again causing yourself to wonder how you forgot the last time you did something stupid.

Don't take it so hard. Stand back and observe for a while (I actually lurked for seven years before I jumped in) and you learn a lot about the personal politics of the site. That said, it doesn't prevent me from doing stupid things now and again...and having to stand up and take the consequences like an adult.

I'm sure that maineman will be just fine.

Think before you post..don't I know it. I posted an inane vanity during election time. For some reason, no one noticed it. After about six hours thought, I pushed the Report Abuse on myself and the Mods were very kind to stop the painful thread's existance.

It was a mercy killing.
