Re #39

Who knows? The next Russian sub may be bigger than Khufu's Pyramid in Giza Plateau.:)

Anybody realize how far north Severodoninsk is? About 64 degrees 35 minutes. About as far north as the Bering Strait, farther north than most of Canada.

Either an exceedingly warm day, or very brave beach goers.

Whats with the Russkies and Speedo's?

The guys have smaller bikini bottoms than the women.

That's what the U.S. and NATO call a "Typhoon", an SSBN. The largest sub ever to put to sea. It's confusing. What the U.S. calls "Typoon" the Russians call "Akula". What the U.S. called "Akula" was the 971 class attack SSNs, which the Russians call "Shchuka-B".

It's funny that no one seems to be paying any attention to it.

Yeah. That makes me think Photoshop.

Re #45

Could have avoided this confusion by just naming it "Monster Shark.":)

looks like a crappy beach.

As far north as it is, it's amazing there is any sand for the beach at all. I'm surprised all the people don't have visible goosebumps, even at that resolution.

The Russians did, sort of, since "Akula" is Russian for shark.

Yep,this is real weird!!.Anyway, the SSN which the West refers to as the Akula is designated by the Russians as the "Schuka-B" or "BARS" class(depending on variant). On the other hand,The Typhoon SSBN is called the Akula class by the Russians.

Well damn ~ just damn!!! No doubt the Russian "spy masters" listening in on our submarine communications would have no idea what anyone was talking about.
