I'm sorry to say the disclaimer is probably my fault. Last week I felt an obligation to explain myself (ad nauseum) before posting the awards. I was, I think, being overly defensive after having offended a particularly precious freeper several weeks ago and I wanted to be careful to couch the awards as something other than a competition. I think I got just a tad too introspective (nah, I'd never do that!) and schmaltzy. It seems that I did, however, strike a cord (even an off key one).

I hope I haven't "queered the deal" for all of us. This thread and you people are too important to me to bear thinking that I've messed this up somehow.

I'll just go out into the garden and eat some worms now...

ewwwwwwwwww--WORMS!!

NO, NO, NO---don't so that!!

No way are you to blame, just like Morgan, and Alas! aren't to blame...

It is like I have said a few times today..the site is suffering from the "lefty" disease of no sense of humor lately.

NOW, I know this thread, and these awards aren't a "joke", but my goodness..it is like a weekly picnic where we all get together..and if a few people can't take a little kidding, or feel slighted if their "dish" isn't praised as much as someone elses...it isn't the fault of the organizer, it is that person's fault for taking themselves too seriesly.

And, by doing so, they are affecting the rest of the people...and THAT is a shame.

Please, like I told Morgan and Alas!, don't blame yourself...YOU bend over backward to be fair.

BTW..re: the Awards...do NOT let this affect them...it is a fun, different thing for this thread..and a few ants should NOT spoil the weekly picnic. Bon Appetit!
