I went to North Korea back in the early 90's to deliver food aid-a shipload of grain. What a dump. Pyongyang looked like a semi-abandoned ghetto at best, and the outlying 'suburbs' are primitive. Honestly, if the planet needed an enema, North Korea is where the tube would go in.
BTB, after my then-captain refused to lay a wreath at the North Korean War Memorial in Pyongyang by way of apology for what the US did in the 50's, we were all held at gunpoint until we could be escorted back to the ship.
If anyone's interested, the boss' exact words to the political officer/translator were
"I'll be damned to hell forever before I do anything to apologize to you fun-sized bas***ds, and my boys don't need to visit your PingPong city again, anyhow. I couple of tons of napalm would cover up the smell of human Sh*t here nicely, because I have no idea if it'll ever wash out of these clothes!"
Not suprisingly, we were the last US grain ship to visit North Korea.

You know they are not using that grain and the aid to feed the people. The international aid they receive goes directly to the political bosses and to feed their million man army.
I am very glad that your commanding officer refused to lay the wreath at the North Korean Memorial. I am willing to bet that former Secretary of State Albright when she was in North Korea did. He also may get his wish of having Pyongyang napalmed.

Your captain really said that? That's hilarious, especially calling them 'fun sized bastards.' I'll have to work on that with some photoshop. I'll let you know when I get done with it.
