"What conflict of interest??"
Kennedy and Kerry are likely pushing for the Marines to be prosecuted, guilty or not, to please their barking moonbat base.
To help them WOULD be a conflict of THEIR interests in doing that.
When what they are selling is; illegal war and war crimes, they have no interest in helping prove ones innocence.

Being held in the brig is something the Red Cross is supposed to be informed of, and they will inform the family No. The Red Cross has no more access to military prisons as they do to state and local prisons. The military will inform families of their serviceman's condition if they are not able to do so themselves, when they are killed, wounded, or injured for example. Anything else is the responsibility of the serviceman.
To: nonliberal
They shouldn't be in prison in the first place. There is nothing unusual about it. These men are charged with a capital crime under the UCMJ. Even in the civilian criminal justice system bail would likely be denied. There is no bail in the military justice system.

Can you find out if we can send them care packages? Unless things have changed radically in the last few years bring internees are very limited as to what they can have in the cells. No care packages. Letters might be allowed.
To: RaceBannon
"That has changed now."
I am glad to here this is now the case. The irony is that they probably endured a lot more while going on patrols each day in the 120 plus heat of Iraq, perhaps at times attempting to sleep in a crunched up position in a Humvee miles away from their FOB. Only having enough water to stay hydrated, and a few MRE's. Many folks may be under the impression all our soldiers and Marines end up each day sleeping a good night sleep in some safe FOB where there is airconditioning, and a nice rec room, food available.
I know for a fact, that is not always the case.
I stand at attention and smartly salute all or military folk that each day put their hide in harms way and serve with dicipline and honor.

For cryin out loud! Of all the Dems, you pick the most rotten of the whole bunch.
But they're the ones you got if you live on Cape Cod.
Why the citizens of Massachusetts continue to place these men in office is way beyond my comprehension.
Patronage has a lot to do with it, though. Another reason is the hundreds of thousands of out-of-state college students that vote in Massachusetts with the help of their Marxist, socialist and dhimmicratic professors.

5. Contact was made with the local Federal and State representatives: JOHN KERRY, TED KENNEDY and Delahunt. The responses were appalling. Senator Ted Kennedy's response stated that he cannot get involved with seeing the families best interests regarding their son due to a CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Sen John Kerry refused to reply to the family either through the phone or mail system. Rep. Delahunt did not honor the family with any personal contact but instead had his son reply; and asked if they can assist with a new lawyer but offered no other assistance such as checking on the welfare of their son or seeing his civil rights were being defended; such as being innocent until proven guilty. It became obvious that since each of the 3 persons contacted were Democrats, they were not going to help the accused.Accused Al Qaeda members have gotten more concern from these expletives-deleted.

Race, this is so important, many thanks. We need to follow this and help where we can. Most Freepers know about Michael Yon and his
(On Line Magazine) - today in an interview with Chris Muir (political cartoonist) Muir mentions Pat Dollard. Curious, I went to
(Dollard's War Zone) - Don't Miss It.
Kerry's response to the Marines and Sailor's plight as well as Kennedy and Delahunt is exactly what anyone can expect from the socialist Democrats, Anti-American and Anti-Military. Don't ever vote for a Democrat if you want to see America remain free, Democrats will not protect you
..they will defer to the United Nations. Does anyone know why these Socialists were selected and were there other politicians who did help?

Not as I remember it.
I once guarded he brig on ship for 30 days, and while there was no Red Cross on board, the families of the 2 guys held were notified through the Red Cross of them being in the brig
Either the Chaplain told them or our C.O. told them, but it was the Red Cross that told the families.
