Howdy everyone!
Are you ready for a FReepathon?
Well, looks like we're going to be in for a great election cycle after all. With Zarqawi's death and a general round-up of terrorists, things are looking better in Iraq and the president's popularity numbers are looking up. We're also seeing some good things happening in the primaries. Apparently, things aren't quite as gloomy as the gloom and doomers have been portending.
Looking forward to not only holding our seats this Fall, but actually building on the conservative majority and continuing to rebuild the judiciary thereafter.
God bless President Bush and our troops and may the war in Iraq come to a successful conclusion soon.
Thank you all very much!!
By the way, received a letter from the Commonwealth of Virgina last month. Seems they are concerned that we are not registered as a charity in Virginia and are therefore not authorized to solicit for charitable contributions in the great state of Virginia.
Well, I don't know about being authorized, but I can tell you we are most definitely not a charity. We're also not a registered non-profit, nor a political PAC, nor a veterans group, nor a professional fundraising organization.
We have no corporate presence in Virginia, do not advertise in the media, do not solicit for funds over the phone or by telegraph, direct mail or even by email and we do not raise funds for any other purpose other than to fund the operations of this web site.
And we solicit only to our members (readers and participants of this site) who, when they donate, do so freely with nothing expected in return other than the hopes of seeing this conservative forum continue to operate.
We state plainly on our web site and on our donation page that donations to Free Republic are not tax deductible.
We are not a charity and do not raise funds for charitable purposes. We are organized as a Limited Liability Company (Free Republic, LLC) in California and as we are not a charity or a registered non-profit, we pay all applicable federal and state taxes on our income to the Federal Government and to the state of California and do not feel we are subject to Virginia's regulations for charitable organizations.
Hoping this will satisfy the Commonwealth of Virginia, otherwise we may have to ask the good people of Virginia to please ignore our fundraisers in the future.
Thanks again for your continuing support and God bless you all.

Give me a hint ---- it is well known?
Like Times Square?
Good news, buddy!!! Good to see you!
I believe it is well known.
As a hint, let's say the new theater gave movies an air of respectability.
I can't get past Radio City and the Zigfield Follies.
I do NOT know NYC at all.
Friday -- from Robinson Crusoe.
! Oddly, I've read that as well, but it doesn't ring a bell.
Good one!
Radio City Music Hall?
I had a name evoking thoughts of royalty.
I had a name evoking thoughts of royalty.
Ready to give?
onyx... help!
I have no idea.
I guessed Radio City, Bijou and Zigfield.
Opened around 1913, the Regent Theater sits on Fulton Street near Bedford Avenue. In 1982 it was still showing movies.
I give, and have one ready.
What's the answer?
Regent --- OK, thanks LJ!!!!
Your turn, Mike,
You got me!
